The development project consisted of the reconfiguration and renovation of a dated one bedroom (80 sq.m) first-floor flat into an immaculate interior designed two bedroom apartment with external private amenity space. The property is located on Beaufort Gardens, a quiet residential Georgian terrace in Knightsbridge, in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and just a stone’s throw from Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the bustle of Brompton Road.
VMP Architects produced a proposal which maximised the potential of the property through clever spatial layout and architectural details. This resulted in prime example of optimal space utilisation, which alongside the use of superlative materials as well as bespoke interior design and finishing, resulted in a living space of unique character, ensuring added value in the project.
The realised design created an impressive reception room with an open-plan kitchen and a mezzanine study area. The living room featured 3 floor-to-ceiling Georgian sash windows which were replaced with identical double glazed timber doors that lead onto a full width balcony and offers great views of the cool-de-sac.
The master bedroom features a large skylight above the bed along with an ensuite bathroom, hidden behind bespoke panelling. In addition, the flat features a second bedroom and a shower room. The flat has been equipped with the highest quality fittings and joinery throughout, resulting in a contemporary design, while all the important Regency features of the property were preserved; the double-height living space, traditional mouldings and windows are enhanced in juxtaposition to the clean modern lines of the interior.
